Systems Engineer

Job Description:

• Responsible for all aspects of systems operations for a Microsoft based server environment.
• Perform all systems administration functions, including account management, user support, system upgrades, system restorations, system backups, status monitoring and reporting.
• Troubleshoot user accounts, platform configuration changes, software version changes and other system performance and resolves problems with skill and professionalism.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and independently when required.
• Plan and coordinate software and system changes with government customers and teammates.
• Ensure all actions meet system security requirements.
• Must HAVE initiative.

Qualifications:

• MCSE preferred. Other certifications are a plus.
• At least 5 years experience.

Experience must include several of the following:
Data Centers, Storage Area Networks, VMware ESX Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server, Microsoft SharePoint 2007 (MOSS), SMS 2003/Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007 (SCCM), System Center Operations Manager 2007 (SCOM), System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) or other system backup/restore software, Microsoft Forefront Security suite, Active Directory, Group Policy, batch files, Scripting languages, Printing Services, Distributed File System, Windows Vista/XP, High Availability/DR/COOP, and NetApp Storage Area Networks.

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are fundamental to success in this role.
• Experience performing both Unix and Windows systems administration is desirable.
• Knowledge of configuration management principles and system security is desirable.
• Experience with VMware ESX Server, Exchange Server 2007, SharePoint 2007 & SQL 2005
