Job Description:
Customer focused Unix/Linux Systems Engineer that will be responsible for supporting and monitoring the operations of the customer's enterprise class network infrastructure. Responsibilities may include: Analyze, design and implement complex Unix/Linux systems. Installation and configuration of RedHat Enterprise Linux on Servers and workstations. Installation and configuration of High Availability clusters. Administration of SAN and NAS storage systems Configuration and maintenance of domain based services such as TCP/IP, NFS, NIS, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, CUPS, etc. Configuration and installation of COTS and GOTS software. Research and analyze new technologies and make recommendations. Develop project plans. Configuration and installation of customer mandated security requirements. Configuration and installation of systems that use virtualization.

Required Skills:
B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics plus a minimum of 4 years experience or equivalent education and experience. Must hold a TS SCI with Full Scope/Lifestyle polygraph. Four years of Unix administration/engineering. Veritas NetBackup experience.

Desired Skills:
Experience with a high level programming language. Working knowledge of cabling technologies such as CAT 5/cat6, single and multistrand fiber. Shell Scripting in a production enterprise environment. RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or RedHat Certified Technician (RHCT) certification.

Required Education (including Major):
B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or education may be substituted for experience.df-tc
