2 Systems Engineers

This is a systems engineering position in the Branded Products business unit.
Periodic domestic travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Integrate network attached storage (NAS) related technologies into a product:
Embedded Linux hardware platform,
Linux operating system and drivers,
Software features, including third-party packages;
User-interface design and implementation.
Thoroughly understanding the hardware platform, operating system and software in the product.
Troubleshooting all product issues including those related to the Linux kernel and software components.
Work with other functional groups and program management to define:
Project requirements
Product test specifications
Manufacturing bring-up and test requirements
Customer support requirements.
Share knowledge with other developers and functional groups through documentation and reviews.

Relevant Skills/Experience:
At least 10 years experience with C and C++.
At least 5 years embedded Linux system development and/or integration experience.
Extensive hands-on software and product development experience.
Strong knowledge of hardware functions including processors, network controllers, SDRAM, USB, etc.
Strong knowledge of Linux software components including the kernel, TCP/IP stack, RAID, file systems, etc.
Experience with development environments such as GNU compilers, etc.
Experience with tools such as Subversion and lint.
Software development processes, including revision control and documentation.

Desired Skills:

Storage industry experience.
Knowledge of mass storage technologies including RAID, ATA, SCSI, and disk drives.
Experience with web services and user interfaces (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
Linux kernel and network performance tuning experience.df-tc
