We are looking for someone to start ASAP. This position is an :
Transition Engineer (TEs) on the Support Team are responsible for troubleshooting and
resolving issues with applications deployed in Web Complex by the client. The
Support Team TE provides second line problem resolution for
development and quality assurance environments in compliance with all relevant policies.
Functional Job Title: Transition Engineer - UNIX

Job Description- Looking for a person who can do either shift 9 AM - 6 PM MST or 6 PM - 3 AM MST plus 12 hour weekend shifts. Position requires evening/night/weekend support and/or overtime as needed. CANDIDATE NEEDS TO BE FLEXIBLE ON SHIFT
NO TRAVEL REQUIRED
Weekend Coverage: Weekend coverage is required.
On Call: Needs to be on-call

Transition Engineers (TEs) on the Support Team are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues with applications deployed in Web Complex. The Support Team TE provides second line problem resolution for development and quality assurance environments in compliance with all relevant policies.

Mandatory Skills (Required):
3 years experience providing technical support for diversified web and Internet technologies
Ability to analyze problems and identify solutions in a high pressure environment; ability to apply advanced troubleshooting techniques
Advanced knowledge of Sun Solaris 8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 with demonstrated applicable experience
Troubleshooting and recovery experience with VERITAS Cluster Server and VERITAS Volume Manage / File System
Strong knowledge and applied experience with LAN connectivity and TCP/IP communication
Functional knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Server 5 command line (no graphical interface) operations
Experience with servers connected to Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network File System (NFS) storage
Strong written and oral communications emphasizing customer satisfaction
Ability to succeed working multiple issues simultaneously

Additional Skills/Experience (Benefit):
Experience with IBM AIX 5L and Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 3.5 and/or 4
Experience working in a sophisticated change management environment
Experience working in a global development and quality assurance environment
Applied experience with automation tools and scripting
Experience with any of the following: Netscape Enterprise Server, SunOne, Apache Web Server/IBM HTTP Server
Familiarity with IBM WebSphere MQ and Java Messaging Service (JMS)df-tc
