Description
Provide expert technical support to all areas of the RS600 and Unix network. Solid AIX experience is a pre-requisite for this position. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of going perm. Responsible for leading multiple technical projects and insuring ongoing stability, maintainability, performance, and recoverability of RS600 Network. Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL and SAP a plus. Responsible for initiating, planning, implementing, and supporting RS6000 technical projects in response to business requirements using project management tools and methodologies. Provide innovative, real-time solutions to issues within the RS6000 architecture. Provide expertise in design and implementation of solutions relating to database, communications and system programming. Monitor and adjust system performance and assist in capacity planning activities. Provide support for the new SAP application environment. Assist the Senior Manager of Server Engineering and the Director of Global Technology in setting strategic direction. Support RS6000 Lan and Wan connectivity via TCPIP protocols and associated application suites. Works close with and provide education for the Development and Operations staff which improve skill sets and productivity. Provide weekly status reports on systems capacity and performance. In depth knowledge of AIX, Unix and SAP a must. BS computer/information science, with 5 7 years experience. Expert level knowledge of RS6000 work management, communications, database, programming, and security. Expertise in performance tuning and systems capacity planning. Expertise in managing complex multiple system implementations. Excellent presentation and communications skills. Experience with Unix, Oracle, SQL and SAP. Thorough and disciplined project management skills.
