Job Description:

This person will assist in setting up and maintaining computers, printers, and other hardware devices, installing operating systems and software programs, as well as trouble-shooting hardware, software, and networking/connectivity issues.

Background:

The qualified person will have at least 3+ years experience and related knowledge in technical support of a computer environment for a medium to large size company.

This person must have extensive experience in at least the following: Installing and configuring operating systems (specifically Windows 98/NT4.0/2000/XP/2003) and other software, configuring networking settings (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS) and trouble-shooting connectivity issues (network logon, internet, email, etc.), Symantec Ghost software or other imaging software, setting up and trouble-shooting network printing (print server devices), performing data backup and restore using various software and utilities, and performing file transfer and remote access functions.

This person needs to have experience working with Active Directory, DNS, WINS, and trouble-shooting hardware and software problems. The ideal candidate will have experience building a computer from scratch and setting it up on a LAN/WAN; connecting to routers, switches, and other networking devices. Strong interpersonal skills and dealing with people relating to problem solving is a must. A+ certified required (MCSE a plus) or equivalent experience.

The candidate for this position must be able to work with little direct supervision (but willing to work as part of a team), be able to work in a highly demanding environment at a fast pace, and must be able and willing to do some lifting (at least 50 lbs.) and moving of hardware equipment.
