Description The Systems/Technical Support Consultant will provide Tier 1 support in one or more of the following areas: desktop systems and applications, servers, data communication services, networks (LAN/WAN), and/or telephony support for call centers. The consultant will be responsible for the installation and configuration of desktops, Servers or LAN/WAN devices as well as developing and maintaining daily operational procedures.

The Systems/Technical Support Consultant will be responsible for problem analysis, resolution and escalation for software or hardware resources when resources are unavailable or degradation in performance is impacting business processes. This involves monitoring, data capture and analysis capabilities to quickly identify problem areas and provide corrective action.

Consultants in this position may be responsible for handling Real Time helpdesk in the resolution of desktop and network problems, assistance with application software, e-mail, remote access, etc.

This consultant must be equipped with a van or suv and capable of transporting multiple point of sale systems and other IT equipment including network and telephony hardware to/from supported retails sites. A typical retail store has 10-12 PCs as point of sale systems with attached peripherals (cash drawer, receipt printer, scanner, and SIM card reader). The van or suv must be capable of safely transporting, at minimum, 6 point of sale systems up to 180 miles from the consultant's assigned work location. Consultants will have to track their miles for contracted work and submit gas receipts.
