Description
1. Independently respond to internal customers having problems with computers, telephony, network or associated peripheral devices through the trouble ticket systems. Investigate nature of problems (such as malfunctioning of hardware devices, associated peripherals and software issues) and corrects as necessary. Complete move, add and change requests submitted via the work order system.

2. Monitor overall computer, telephony and network performance. Identify and prioritize problems and initiate corrective action. Perform system backups and recovery.

3. Independently evaluate outage conditions and ascertain which vendor or support group should be contacted for service. Interface with vendors or support group to resolve problems and maintain thorough records of problems encountered, status and action taken. Gather information on problems affecting the business or customer offices and refer major service outages and coordination difficulties to appropriate group.

4. Install, configure and maintain network operating systems, local area network, wide area network, and technology infrastructure. Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware and applications software. Detect diagnoses and report problems on server and desktop systems.

5. Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain telecommunication and call center systems including dialers, voice response units, call monitoring systems, automatic call distributors and call routers.

6. Develop proficiency in computer, telephony and network systems related tasks such as voice and data integrated applications, automatic call distributors, call flow efficiency, automatic dialers and integrated facsimile servers.

7. May draft department operating procedures and instructions for others to use when performing computer, telephony, and network diagnosis and repairs.

8. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.

9. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company?s Diversity programs.df-tc


Experience/Skills
This position requires an individual with:

* An Associated degree or equivalent experience in information technology.

* Two to five years experience in computer systems including data, voice, local or wide area networks and software assessment and repair.

* Thorough knowledge of call center technologies and network operating systems.

* Thorough knowledge of call center technologies and network operating systems; the ability to perform complex problem determination and resolution on network components; and the ability to work independently and as a team member.
