Description:
A fully qualified Network technician, the Systems Technician applies a broad working knowledge of Networks and Network equipment to complete a wide variety of assignments through the application of technical concepts, practices and procedures. The incumbent generally is a member of quick-response customer support team and works on moderately complex Network Installs with normal to critical deadlines, and typically operates independently to troubleshoot and install all tasks at hand. This position will require set up, Install, and repair of a variety of network solutions like Network Infrastructure, Closed Circuit Television, Intercom, Fiber Optics, Transceivers, switches, racks, UPS and more.

May perform one or more of the following:
Operates data communication systems, including LANs and/or WANs.
Implements networked systems, including configurations, and supports/troubleshoots network problems.
Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
Modifies network components supporting customer communication implementation activities.
Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods.
Prepares the analysis of the needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling.
All other duties as assigned.


Preferred experience should include:
System(s) troubleshooting skills
Customer service skills
Travel to Existing and New sites
Formal training in Networks (or equivalent experience)
Reliable transportation and valid legal permit to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
Ability to pass a Federal Background check and drug test.
Substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
Works on assignments without oversight that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
Minimum of 4 - 6 years of related experience.
