Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Systems Test Engineer. This position requires significant experience in a similar role at a telecommunications company and experience testing all aspects of a complex system including chips, boards, systems, firmware, software, telecommunications protocols, etc. You must also have the energy, drive and passion it takes to succeed in a fast moving start-up!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide product verification and quality assurance for communications ASICs and associated software.

  • Validate product performance compared to design goals for correctness and completeness

  • Develop, document and execute test plans and reports, including integration testing, system testing and regression testing for incremental development.

  • Automate test environment with test equipment including Smartbits, logic analyzers and scopes.

  • Isolate and identify root causes of problems.

  • Support defect tracking.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

  • At least 3 years of experience in datacom/telecom systems test environment.

  • Strong C, C++ and C# skills

  • Experience writing systems level plans for Ethernet / VLAN. (EMS and/or PON experience are preferred.

  • Detailed knowledge of network protocols including 802.3, 802.1, TCP/IP and T1/E1.

  • Ability to effectively use scripting languages including Perl, Tk/Tcl, Expect, etc.

  • Recent experience and strong working knowledge of SmartBits.

  • Proven experience writing and executing test plans at all levels including system, board, inter-operability and functional.

  • Must be able to work independently in a deadline driven, start-up environment.

  • Hardware and driver-level software verification with an EPON based system is highly desired.

  • Experience defining the overall test strategy for hardware, software and functional is a plus.
