EMC Corp. January 5, 2006, announced that it had acquired the intellectual property for grid software developed by Acxiom Corp. for $30 million, and will work with the company to offer grid-based hosted services. Acxiom is a $1.2 billion company based in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Acxiom Corporation is seeking individuals who have a desire to be on the very leading edge in Grid Software development. These are new positions to expand and develop already available software technology and to work with some of the top developers in grid software technology.

We are looking for a talented and experienced technical writer. Working with developers and product managers, you will plan, analyze, construct, and validate content. You will design, produce, and deliver technical documents that help customers receive the optimal benefit from their technical products and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
? Research content using technical documents, interview techniques, and use of product being developed
? Gather information from and share information with appropriate stakeholders to ensure a common, accurate understanding of projects or products
? Develop and apply standards and templates that provide a consistent, professional appearance for documents
? Adhere to industry and company style standards
? Participate in project definition and planning based on product requirements and overall project schedules
? Manage or help manage technical writing projects
? Survey clients on the effectiveness of documentation and make modifications as necessary
? Assist in ?train the trainer? activities to ensure knowledge transfer
? Become an expert user to be able to address the needs of users on all levels

Minimum Qualifications
? Experience creating high-quality software documentation for external customers
? Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard authoring tools
? At least five years of directly related job experience
? Strong, proven writing and communication skills
? The ability to meet aggressive deadlines
? The ability to understand the perspective of any user, from novice to expert, and to communicate on that level with your writing
? BA or BS in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or Computer Science
? Attention to detail
? Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

Desired Qualifications
? Advanced degree in technical communication
? Experience with a single-sourcing documentation process
? Familiarity with XML
