Description


Adecco Engineering & Technical is currently looking for a mid-level Technical Writer for a client in Wilsonville, OR. Looking for expertise working with help systems/developing help systems; candidate should also have solid work experience with XHTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Technical Writer
Contract: 12+ months
Pay rate: $35.00/hr W2

Duties:
* Write content & develop documentation to support printers and multifunction devices (MFPs).
* Create content in XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, within allotted timeframe collaborating with Customer Support, Engineering, and other geographically dispersed colleagues.
* Simultaneously work on multiple projects with multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Track projects independently and raise issues as appropriate to ensure on-time delivery of assignments.
* Scope workload, help develop schedules, track and report status to ensure on-time delivery of final files.
* Ensure that milestones and deliverables sync up with other development team dependencies and deadlines for items such as user guides, control panel strings, instructional movies, etc.
* Leverage previous content; refer to specifications and use prototypes to develop new content.
* Leverage existing shared content whenever possible to minimize translation costs.
* Collaborate with editor, other writers, and illustrators to share content and art requirements.
* Provide QA help Websites on all supported browsers and in all languages to ensure help compatibility across platforms and browsers.

* Strong Project management skills
* Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
* Skilled in Dreamweaver, Flare, and or Robohelp
* Working knowledge of Frame Maker, Indesign, and Illustrator
* Expert ability to work with help systems/developing help systems
* Expert in XHTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS

Education and Experience:
Minimum: BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge.
2+ years experience in related field.

Preferred:
Experience writing in a content managment system
