Tester Job Description
?Provides Oversight to all test leads and analysts on a given project
?Participates in requirement definition and verifies that requirements are testable and provides preliminary recommendations for how each will be tested.
?Defines test phases and execution plans for each phase, ensuring that the methodology is applied appropriately.
?Acts as the primary point of contact for Development, Project Mangers, Customers with regard to testing
?Participates in design meetings from a testing perspective and presents the strategy for testing.
?Ensures that testing of multiple efforts is progressing as appropriate
?Manages testing risk associated with Requirements
?Manages Escalation where needed
?Manages Break fixes and requirements that cross organizations and impact timelines
?With the Development leads prioritizes critical fixes required in development and manages the testing cycles and controls across the solution.
?Works with the Project Manager to ensure that timelines are met and status and changes are continually managed for testing.
?Counsels and provides assistance regarding testing risk identification / assessment / analysis / handling user requirements identified
?Conducts sign-off of a project?s Risk Assessment Plan between checkpoints to ensure the addressing of risks.
?Maintains risk associated with new technologies and platforms, complex/leading edge technologies, complex environments, functionally complex data models (including processing functionality), external dependencies (including legislative changes), contractor supply and delivery, procurement, etc.
?Define, document and present Test recommendations across all phases of the life cycle.
?Define, implement and manage the processes for their identified Test Team as a service group to project managers.
?Responsible for defining and providing the project managers with work plan for the testing activities and resource allocation throughout the SDLC of each specific project, to include the test preparation and test execution stages.
?Provides project managers w/ testing progress reports, budget reports and other information required for managing the day-to-day activities as well as the dependencies of the project.
?Shares responsibility with the Test Leads in ensuring the exit criteria from testing phase are met.
?Assists test leads in managing the activities of the test preparation and test execution stages.
?Manage changes in requirements with the requirements manager, project manager and the development lead
?Responsible for tracking, analyzing and reporting testing metrics for all projects they own.

?Ability to adjust performance quickly in response to reorganizations, strategy/priority changes and shifting customer needs.
?Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical individuals at levels including senior management. Interactions may include educating, persuading and negotiating.
?Ability to manage conflict without major disruption to work flow.
?Ability to work directly with customers and communicate effectively regarding testing practices.
?Minimum of 5 years testing experience
?Experience across multiple industries, and solutions.
?Experience in execution of testing methodologies
