Description
Testers identify all issues of dispute between parties engaged in each step of a project's development and management. They work with development teams and customer service teams to ensure the process is efficient and information/projects delivered are of high quality.

Job Description:

This software testing role will focus on System Integration testing, with an emphasis on validating data that has been output from multiple components of the system. Candidates with a product or business analyst background related to data analysis and validation may be a good fit for this role. Candidates should be well-versed in software testing processes and methodologies, as well as database design and architecture. This tester will be responsible for interfacing with development teams that build data products and the software that delivers the data, and must work with each to understand the expected output.

In addition, the software tester is responsible for the execution of test cases and documentation of test results. They are responsible for working with the development team as defined for a project to ensure that root cause is identified on defects, and all defects are tracked appropriately throughout the testing phase.

Responsibilities:

? Develop and execute thorough test plans in a timely and efficient manner
? Analyze complex software and data models for accuracy
? Provide detailed analysis of data and software tests
? Leverage a variety of resources to creatively craft testing scenarios for data and software models
? Review and analyze functional specifications and/or related documentation for the software or data product
? Develop and implement software and data testing standards, processes, and controls
? Continually research new and emerging technologies and incorporate that knowledge into the software and data testing/QA process

Qualifications:

? BS/BA in computer science, engineering, or related degree required
? 3+ years software/data testing or data analysis experience
? Knowledge of software QA processes and methodologies
? Knowledge of QA Tools and Applications e.g. Mercury, CompuWare CARS, etc.
? Possess general understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design
? Understand web-based and client/server architectures
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Strong problem solving skills
? Desire to be part of a highly productive, fast-paced team
? Organized and detail-oriented personality
? Understanding and comfort in working in a Linux environment
? Thorough understanding of testing methodologies associated with Functional, Integration, Regression, Performance, Migration/Operational Readiness

Preferred skills/experience/education/certification:

? MS in Computer Science or related field
? Extensive experience testing complex systems
? Experience working in a grid-based testing environment
? Experience with test automation software
? Experience with Unix script languages
? CSTE or equivalent certification
