Job Description
Summary of Job Function:

Provides strategic direction and day-to-day management of multiple teams of development resources in a high-risk, dynamic environment, adhering to budget, schedule and quality requirements. Makes critical decisions that could have a significant impact on our clients and other functional areas.

Essential Responsibilities:
The emphasis of application systems is the development and support of system deliverables from relevant TSYS processes. The scope of a Resource Manager’s role poses moderate to significant risk and complexity, requiring routine direction and typically has managerial responsibility of one resource group. Specifically, a Resource Manager, Application Systems’ responsibilities include:

Accountable for the performance and work behaviors of team members within the MTP organizations.

Leverages development opportunities for team members to meet their performance and development goals.

Ensures effective performance appraisals are conducted utilizing tools such as Right Steps, one-on-one progress meetings/updates, feedback from project partners and setting/monitoring clear performance, training paths and development goals.

Adheres to compensation practices and monitors compliance to ensure fairness and consistency.

Makes recommendations on promotions, salary adjustments, hiring and other employment actions.

Develops/maintains skill and competency inventory of the organization.

Assigns resources necessary to staff project efforts with team members possessing the required skills and competencies needed to make the project successful.

Ensures that the pooled resources are aligned with the strategic direction of the business from a skill/competency and capacity perspective.

Develops resources, within budget and time, through cross training, monitoring, controlling expenses and utilizing effective time management skills.

Practices effective internal and external communication with all levels.

Adheres to division policies and procedures. Ensures their teams are aware of all policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

Four year college degree and 6 or more years professional experience or 8 or more years professional experience is required. Previous management experience is required. Some appropriate TSYS experience is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
