Technical Account/Project Manager (TAPM) - DIRECT HIRE POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY - ROCKVILLE, MD

(MUST HAVE ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE)

Our client is seeking an individual who possesses entrepreneurial energy and who understands that to grow a business you need to wear multiple hats. The person selected for this job will grow into a significant role within a small dynamic company. We are seeking a motivating Technical Account/Project Manager (TAPM) to support several critical customers and engineering projects. Ideal candidates must be independent, resourceful, professional and possess strong written and verbal communication skills to engage directly with customers.


During the course of a single day, the TAPM may be involved in sales activites, facilitation of architecture reviews, follow-up on escalated customer issues, and coordination of training sessions for customers.

TAPMs are involved throughout an entire Solutions Development Lifecycle for our customers. As a customer moves from the process of product selection (mapping a product to business needs) to product maintenance, the TAPM will be engaged as a trusted advisor to ensure that the entire lifecycle goes as smoothly as possible. An example of some TAPM activites during the Solutions Development Lifecycle are listed below.

Requirements Gathering: Driving the Business Analysis/Requirements Management Process

Product Selection: Mapping Business Needs to Product Suite; Engaged In Requirements Gathering; Demos; Beta Programs

Planning: Providing Guidance on Architecture; Advisor During Project Plan Creation; Meetings to Review Plan

Implementation: Providing Guidance on Best Practice; Capacity Planning; Escalation Management

Testing: Providing Guidance on Test Plans; Determination of Failed Versus Improper Testing; Expectation Setting

Maintenance: Escalation Management; Providing Guidance on Maintenance Best Practices; Product Roadmap

In addition to being involved during each of the phases in the Solutions Development Lifecycle, TAPMs are also engaged in activities to maintain the overall customer relationship. By creating a strong relationship with customers, TAPMs open up new possibilities of joint collaboration and create an environment where information can flow freely.

During all customer interactions, the TAPM will serve as the face of the company. This can be accomplished by establishing good communication with the customer, keeping the team on track, and leading projects to further the goals of the company.

The overall goal of a TAPM is to ensure that customers are successful in their deployment of company solutions. By engaging in activities to achieve this goal, TAPMs ensure the customers' success and the success of the company.

Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, business managers and engineers to build consensus around architectural solutions, define high-level and detailed requirements, and deliver projects successfully.
  • Perform proof-of-concept and prototyping activities to assess whether the proposed architecture and components meet the non-functional requirements: reliability, performance and maintainability. Modify and refine architecture based on findings.
  • Provide input and support to RFP generation and contracts development processes
  • Work with Director of Professional Services for project resourcing
  • Work with Director of Business Administration for production of Accounting and Weekly Status Reports
  • Identify and address technology gaps.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to software engineering teams to ensure that priorities and direction are aligned with the business.
  • Insure that code reviews are taking place.
  • Act as the central liaison in a cross-functional structure, working with company management and operations to establish the priorities and ensure that business needs and expectations are being met in a professional manner.
  • Fulfill direct customer communication aspects of contract obligations through face-to-face interaction
  • Partner with the project leadership team to manage expectations and ensure collaboration between project teams. Assist in the negotiation and arbitration of business decision trade-offs.
  • Work with the technical leads to verify workplan estimates for all deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project budgets, scheduling, and identification of resources/skill sets required.
  • Participate in program level presentations; contribute to communications and executive presentations on development project status & issues.
  • Responsible for directing projects across multiple teams and solution areas
  • Provide timely, high-level estimates of modifications
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of project deliverables
  • Plan the Installation, Training, and Post Delivery Support of solution
  • Responsible for client satisfaction including resolution of project issues
  • Develop project deliverables, work papers and other project artifacts
  • Develop end-user training plans


Skills and Experience

Ideal candidates will have 10 years of experience in the following areas:




  • Must excel in the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, particularly with regard to anticipating and solving problems, issues, or concerns before they occur or become critical.

  • Ability to conduct effective meetings.
  • Exceptional conceptual and analytical skills

Education


  • Minimum Bachelors degree OR comparable experience supported by strong references who can validate past record of ability to produce results.
