Technical Artist/Programmer - video game, 3dsMAX or Maya SDK and either Maxscript or MEL Scripting language.

We are seeking an energetic Technical Artist who is part programmer and part artist to help bridge the gap between our tools and asset creation process and the game team users who use those tools to create content. We're looking for someone who is not afraid of new challenges, who can work closely with our tools programmers and wants to work on a technology team and company that is focused on enabling the most iteration possible with our game development. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Computer Science or Software Engineering
Experience with 3dsMAX or Maya SDK
Experience with either Maxscript or MEL Scripting language.
Ability to communicate effectively with both artists and programmers.
Self-motivated, with the ability to quickly learn and utilize new technology and APIs.
Being versatile and regularly proving a readiness to tackle new challenges.
A passion for playing and making games!

Pluses:
Intimate knowledge of a 3dsMax and creating plugins.
Knowledge of programming principles and techniques, algorithms, and data structures.
Proficiency in modelling, lighting, and shading.
Basic understanding of design elements, color theory, anatomy, drawing and painting.

Responsibilities:
A Technical Artist should be able to problem solve technology issues related to art production.
Use Scripting languages to create productivity and error reduction tools.
Help to define and maintain production pipeline, process and workflow.
Solve pre-production and production issues in regards to the more technical aspects of content production.
Provide character tools and animation controls (knowledge of skinning and weight of characters).
Be able to identify and implement batch systems to reduce repetitive work.
Track down problems in current systems, produce test cases, determine best course of action and implement fixes.
