Position Summary:
Operations and Accounting are the departments in Bridgewater responsible for ensuring that trade settlement and daily trade valuations occur daily as expected – both internally at Bridgewater and in the outside world with our Counterparties, Custodians, Prime Brokers and Administrators.  Operations is also responsible for maintaining position and valuation information on behalf of our clients, and forwarding this information to the other departments for use in trade generation, client reporting, accounting among other activities. 
 
Technical Leads need to be experienced software developers who have experience leading a team of developers. They will generally be engaged in projects ranging in size from weeks to several months, and geared towards solving the most acute business and technology problems. Technical leads will be required to work as both an individual developer with end-to-end responsibility for a quality technology solution, and as a member of a larger project team, depending on the nature of their assignment. They are expected to spend a considerable amount of their time mentoring, coaching, and overseeing the work of other developers, as well as working with the business and other members of the technology community to explore and set the direction of technology at Bridgewater.
 
 
 
Responsibilities would include:
·         Contributing to the architecture transformation of the business from the existing architecture to a modern well-integrated and upgraded architecture
·         Proactively working with the team to identify business problems and design appropriate solutions
·         Leading, mentoring, motivating, and project level oversight of developers
·         Serving as a technical lead across the entire SDLC for technology projects: Architecture, Code Level Design, Implementation, and Stabilization
·         Providing support on existing applications as required, including identification of the source of defects and reproducing defects in a development environment
·         Contributing to development environments and processes, such as refining the SDLC
 
 
   
Position Requirements:
·         Has at least 5 + years professional experience developing software
·         Highly responsible, results-focused experienced developer with strong technical skills, proven technical judgment and a high degree of common sense
·         Strong leadership skills including effective communication and a willingness to engage in open and rational discussions
·         Deep experience and understanding of .Net, C#, Transact/SQL, XSLT and data modeling
·         Familiarity with the following Software Development concepts: Standard Development Process, Source Code Control, Branching & Tagging, Testing & Quality Assurance
·         Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities shift frequently
·         Ability to work in a team-driven environment
 
 
Preferred candidates would also meet the following criteria:
·         B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Science or Engineering
·         Financial background
·         Understanding of Market Mechanics
·         Installation experience in Geneva and Calypso
