Position Overview:
Limelight Networks* Software Development organization is currently seeking a Technical Lead/senior level Java Developer. Along with other members of the development team, the person in this role will be responsible for the technical selections, design, and implementation of Java-based applications.

Responsibilities:
In addition, this role will have the following responsibilities:
* Lead development team in completing planned feature/function enhancements, including new development and refactoring. Design and build for optimum performance and resource consumption.
* With Director, PM, plan development iterations and schedules.
* Coordinate activities and resource assignments with Director, PM, and development team.
* With Architect, determine best technologies and framework(s) for the applications.
* Adhere to assigned project schedules.
* Manage development and test environments: installation, configuration, backup/recover and performance tuning.
* Coordinate and manage functional, load and performance testing, including production testing.
* Coordinate with Operations for monitoring, diagnostics, and deployment of production application.
* Participate in and contribute to internal training and review sessions.
* Compile and submit weekly status report.

Experience/Skills
Requirements:
* 10+ years* software development experience
* 7+ years* experience developing in Java for a Unix/Linux environment
* 3+ years* experience developing in C/C++
* Recent * within past 2 years * experience in a lead role in a development team
* Experience building OO systems using a structured methodology; experience in iterative or Agile development preferred
* Experience in scripting languages such as Perl
* Experience delivering products and components for a Unix/Linux server environment
* Experience developing with open source tools and frameworks such as Mina, Berkeley DB, Eclipse
* Experience/knowledge with RDBMS
* Experience with technologies such as single sign-on, web clustering, load balancing, fault tolerance, firewalls, proxy servers, etc.
* Experience with networking protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP, sockets, UDP, DNS
* Experience with internal functioning of web infrastructure components such as HTTP caching servers, domain name servers, routers, etc.
* Ability and willingness to support 24/7 research and production environments.
