Knowledge Management Solutions: Technical Specialist (.NET Development Focus)

The primary role is to develop and implement knowledge management solutions Enterprise-wide, with the primary focus on .NET and Sharepoint 2007 implementations. The secondary role is to deliver other content management, document/records management, business process management, and application integration solutions.

Responsibilities

Knowledge Management Implementation and Support
  • Develop and implement knowledge management applications to support business operations and projects requiring Sharepoint 2007 and/or .NET development to the Disney enterprise.
  • Support Business Unit teams with development assistance, design reviews, and interaction with technology vendors to resolve issues.
  • Provide training in support of users and business units.
  • Provide administration of users in the development, test and QA environments.
  • Develop content archival strategies and implement utilities to automate the strategies.
  • Maintain standards documentation (e.g. naming standards, technology use guidelines, support processes and guidelines, etc.) and development/deployment methodology guidelines.
  • Conduct functional and performance testing of application integrations prior to production migration
  • Provide operation and administration of servers and application components.

    General

  • Execute knowledge management usage reports and maintain the reporting infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all work performed by department is in compliance with corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Evaluate new technologies (H/W & S/W) and assesses their potential impact on current systems and identify future opportunities.
  • Research, evaluate, prototype, and participate in the deployment of new software engineering technology and system development tools (e.g. Service-oriented Architecture)

    Technical Skills

  • Software development experience (3+ years) – required (strong skills in two or more of the following languages preferred: .NET, JAVA, JavaScript)
  • Relational database programming experience (3+ years) - required (SQL Server 2000 preferred)
  • Experience with one or more of the following operating systems: Windows 2000 server, Solaris, AIX – required
  • Experience in Microsoft SharePoint 2007 development –highly preferred
  • Experience in object-oriented design and object-oriented programming – preferred
  • Experience in Opentext DM/RM 5 or later or other document or records management applications –preferred
  • Experience with webMethods, MQ Series or other integration technology – preferred
  • Experience in Lombardi Teamworks Authoring environment V6.0 or later – preferred

    Education

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering - preferreddf-tc

    Experience/Skills
