TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER - WORKFORCE

JOB DESCRIPTION

*Utilize his/her technical ability to prioritize Level 1 and Level II issues and appropriately respond to multiple critical situations.
* Define the tools needed by Kronos Workforce Central Support organization to resolve technical issues. These tools include remote access, database analysis, network analysis and product specific tools as required.
* Ensure that a process is defined, documented and implemented so it could be utilized to record the replication of product anomalies to engineering for quick resolution.
* Working knowledge of how to load Oracle and/or SQL database into a lab environment for testing purposes.
* Maintain transfer knowledge throughout the support organization once we have participated in Beta process for new Kronos products and technologies
** Maintain the highest possible level of expertise in Kronos Client/Server product, networks, database products (Oracle and SQL) and other technologies associated in this environment.
* Provide technical expertise to conduct specific performance or functional tests associated with resolving performance issues regarding Kronos application being utilize on a Unix or NT platform in association with Oracle and/or SQL database.
* Provide technical expertise in weekly triage meeting between engineering and support services.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 6 years experience working with Client/Sever technologies, Unix and NT environments.
* Minimum 3 years experience working with Oracle, Informix, or SQL Server relational databases.
Experience working with Weblogic, Websphere, and Jboss preferred.
* Excellent technical understanding of Operating Systems (NT, Unix, Novell), networking technologies, software applications and communication protocols.
* Having a strong working knowledge of SQL would certainly be a benefit.
* Possess Microsoft Certified System Engineering certificate or obtain within 12 months of start.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Has 5 years experience in a telephone support roledf-tc
