Description
West is currently seeking a Technical Support Supervisor responsible for supervising assigned staff employed to monitor system activity and function, ensuring problem resolution and documentation of system problems are carried out in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner during assigned shift; research and resolve problems that may adversly impact the system and escalate any issues outside of employees control to the appropriate departmental staff; ensure trouble tickets are documented completely and accurately using concise, detailed wording and make certain each issue is followed through to completion; coach and develop subordinates to achieve quality performance while establishing, achieving, and maintaining departmental and developmental goals; assist in the development and implementation of tools and procedures to enhance the system monitoring and escalation process; participate in special projects as necessary.

Experience/Skills
  • Associates degree in computer science, MIS, related field or equivalent work experience--bachelor degree preferred
  • Minimum two years experience in a network operations or technical support environment required
  • Minimum one year UNIX experience required
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Access, Excel and Word at an intermediate level required
  • Minimum one year lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems required Knowledge of PC/LAN envirnments preferred Knowledge of Avaya and/or Novell Netware preferred Shell scripting, C, Windows systems preferred
