Description
As part of the Desktop Support team, this role provides third-tier level support to questions, problems, and service requests related to all computer technologies as it applies to the business. A broad technical background (hardware, operating systems, telecommunications, networking, and software), great people skills, mature troubleshooting abilities, and a sincere desire to help people work through problems describe the
characteristics of this very important resource.

Primary responsibilities focus on the development and maintenance of the District's desktop computer images, to include the design, creation, and managing of Microsoft security policies, software scripting in a Microsoft Windows environment, development, testing, and implementing standard desktop and laptop images using Ghosting and associated utilities such as Microsoft sysprep, and participates in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.

Experience/Skills
The candidate considered for this position should meet the following qualifications:
-5 to 7 year's desktop support
-2 to 4 years desktop image administration
-1 to 2 years project management/project support
-Experience with Call Tracking/Problem Management tools (ie. -Remedy, Heat, Applix)

Qualifications and Background
-Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
-Expert Installation/configuration tasks (OS deployment/upgrading).
-Expert in Windows 2000 Pro/XP Pro operating systems.
-Expert SMS server skills.
-Highly proficient Symantec Ghost (or other imaging software.
-Highly proficient scripting ? DOS/Windows shell.
-Expert SMS skills.
-Highly proficient in MS Office Applications.
-Excellent team working skills.
-Excellent customer service and inter-personal communications skills.

Certifications
-A+ Certification
-N+ Certification
-Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
-Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and/or
-Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)

Technical Support Experience - Intermediate to Expert Level

-PCs, laptops, PDA, tablets, monitors, accessories, digital cameras, etc., MS Office 2000/XP Professional, Lotus Notes 5.0, IE5.5 - 6, Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP, PDA conduit ? Pylon, MNotes, Remote Control tools (SMS, VNC, PC Anywhere), AS400, Oracle client, Ghost (Symantec), Familiarity with business applications integration similar or equivalent to Oracle, Lawson, People Soft, AutoCad, etc.,

Additional Technical Support Background
Variety of printers, scanners, large-scale plotters, faxes, etc.), MACs (OS and various production applications), Engineering applications (AutoCad 2000i - 02, GIS), Visual Basic, C, C+, Web Development applications, Telecommunications, Wireless, Call Center-phone system integration
