Position Description:

As a technical team leader, this position serves as the primary point of contact for technical questions from the 25 Battalion IMS Support personnel who respond to and diagnose problems through discussions with remote users located at Fort Knox and other locations throughout the United States, Hawaii, Puerto, Virgin Islands, Korea, Germany, etc.

Population served is approximately 22,000 personnel/staff to include Department of the Army civilians, military and contractor personnel.

These duties include providing assistance and technical solutions that are used by team members to isolate, research, and recommend resolution procedures/steps to their end customers. The technical team leader must be capable of diagnosing, researching (when appropriate) and resolving more complex problems immediately by utilizing in-depth investigative efforts and relay that information back as well as provide detailed instructions to other team members when appropriate. However, more complex, highly technical problems may require escalation to other subject matter experts (developers/engineers/etc.) for resolvement.

Also as the technical team leader, this individual is responsible to perform very generalized personnel management activities to include obtaining travel authorizations, time card validations, technical training to team members, etc.

Requirements of the Position:

- Minimum four (4) years of industry knowledge of information technology best practices. Prior Army recruiting experience is a plus.

- Minimum four (4) years experience in personal computer hardware/software/peripheral maintenance and Level 2/3 help desk support.

- Understanding of network technology concepts and experience, especially Ethernet & IP.

- In-depth understanding of software/hardware installation and operations

- Knowledgeable of wired LAN with wireless using wireless access points.

- Familiar with IEEE standards for LAN & wireless LAN configurations/operations.

- Problem identification and remediation skills relating to support of a very large WAN.

- Excellent troubleshooting skills, fast technology learner and ability to independently perform tasks.

- Excellent communication skills to interface with diverse groups to include Network Operation Groups, Engineering, customer, vendors and third party personnel.

- Understanding of network performance problems, circuit types and capabilities.

- In-depth knowledge and experience in computer workstation/network security, vulnerabilities, and risk management.

- Knowledge of system integration principles and technologies of multiple operating systems.

- Must possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills and comfortable working with customers to understand requirements and ability to perform briefings on proposed technical solutions

- Ability to provide 3rd level technical support to end-users, team members and administrators, as required.

- Ability to isolate the cause/effect and prioritize problems using monitoring tools and understanding of software application/database structures/design.

- Demonstrated knowledge of experience in monitoring and assisting end users with network connectivity activities and/or systems within a large enterprise.

- Conceptual understanding of connectively architecture in wireless and LAN environments.

- Understanding of network protocols in order to assist users obtaining connectivity to the Recruiting Services Network (RSN) and traffic issues on a large network.

- Technical documentation skills and the ability to create written reports such as solution recommendations and providing background information on technical issues.

- Excellent client facing skills.

- Ability to work in a rapid-development environment.

- Work closely with customer in analyzing requirements and resolving problems

- Ability to work flexible hours after normal duty hours including weekends and holidays

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a DOD ADP-II security clearance or higher.df-tc
