Technical Writer Server Engineering

Candidate must have experience with SHAREPOINT.

The Technical Writer responsibilities include working with various teams (Development, Support, Engineering, Configuration Management, Storage, Networking, Project Management and QA) to, document system architecture, policies, procedures, create run books, finalize test reports, create training materials, generate release notes; update Web pages, and related functions which include but not limited to:

- Work with various teams (Development, Support, Engineering, Configuration Management, Storage, Networking and QA) to finalize test reports; generate release notes; update client Web pages; document system architecture

- Prepare complex technical manuals and other project-related documentation (PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, etc.).

- Interview subject matter experts, research existing source data and other reference materials, participate in technical discussions and generate meeting minutes as needed.

Create documents based on pertinent engineering/architectural drawings, technical information, consultations with various teams and other available sources.

- Research, write, illustrate and produce a variety of technical documents using product specifications and other source documents;

- Clearly and correctly state and summarize project information and project activities;

- Modify and update documentation as required by software modifications or technical upgrades and improvements to operational network and software environments.

Strong understanding of infrastructure architectures, software lifecycle tactic, and system development. Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Needs to have a good understanding and experience of server and client side architectures and systems design. Should have an understanding of current industry trends and their advantages with ability to right fit into an existing environment. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

? Experience with data center migration and consolidation utilizing emerging technologies

? Experience creating Training Materials

? Experience with Virtualization Technologies on multiple platforms

? Understanding of network architecture is required.

? Experience with the development or re-engineering of systems and processes.

? Understanding of network communication protocols (TCP/IP etc).

? Experience with virtualization technologies and products such as VMWare and Solaris Containers is a plus

? Experience with Oracle applications and database and SQL database is a plus

? Experience with Middleware and ESB such as Tibco is a plus

? Experience with Tivoli monitoring and IBM Z technologies is a plus

# of Years Required: ? At least 3 years of experience in technical writing
