Functional Description:
ACS is in search of an experienced Technical Writer / Editor to join a team in Essex / Hanover Maryland responsible for providing clear, concise documentation of current, modified, or newly designed applications. This individual will be part of a team whose primary responsibility will be to create and maintain all project documentation, as well as project documentation libraries. Additionally, this individual will share responsibility with the QA department to document processes and procedures, and with the Training team to create end-user documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop clear, concise documentation of applications under development, modification, or maintenance by ACS for our client.
  • Design and develop accurate end user documentation
  • Analyze business processes to determine gaps in knowledge and procedure in transitioning to any new applications.
  • Establish and maintain project documentation libraries including the use of version control
  • Review and edit project and organizational documentation for accuracy and completeness as directed
  • Participate in peer reviews of project and organizational documentation as required
  • Work with the Quality Assurance department to document new or modify existing processes and procedures when required
    Required:
  • 5+ years experience working in an Information Technology (IT) environment developing project/process documentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively at all levels within the project team and the organization, both internal and external to ACS.
  • Strong understanding of software development life-cycle (SDLC) types (waterfall, iterative, etc.) and phases (initiation, planning, etc.)
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and focused on high-quality delivery of work products
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Journalism, or other related field.

    Special Requirements
  • Experience with government operations
  • Overtime may be required to meet client deadlines
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of IBM Rational Unified Process Suite
  • Working know
  • Basic understanding of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
  • Familiarity with SABA and/or other LMS tools
    ledge of Clarity
