Technical Writer (Temp to Hire Position)

This is a key position within the Product Management team and is responsible for ensuring that technical user documentation is completed for our proprietary platform in a professional manner consumable by a technical end user of the system and that this documentation is maintained from version to version of the IMPaCT platform.

Document Development
~ Responsible for working with product management to develop and maintain the overall technical documentation list for our proprietary platform
~ Responsible for working with product management to develop and maintain the Document Templates utilized for the creation of final documentation.
~ Responsible for working with subject matter experts to develop and maintain the final technical documentation for each proprietary module, specifically User Manuals by module and Administration Manuals for the platform.
~ Responsible for working with product management to assist in the conversion of documentation to an online format for use in Help context and online documentation.

Administration
~ Works with training services to ensure training programs can be developed from technical documentation.
~ Works with product management to ensure documentation print and release schedules are met for product release schedules.

Improve
~ Continuously look to improve the efficiency of developing and deploying technical documentation for the platform and modules.

An ideal candidate will have:

BA/BS in Journalism, English, Technical Communications, Computer Science or related field preferred
Fundamental knowledge of IT systems and solutions, for example Servers JAVA/LAN/WAN/Web Applications/Database
Must have experience writing commercial grade software (technical manuals, trademarks, logos)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Strong customer and business partner orientation; team player who can build relationships outside the function and at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and forecast for workload management
Strong organizational/analytical skills and an attention to detail
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Demonstrated excellent leadership skills
Sufficient maturity and assertiveness to maintain focus in a dispersed, extremely diverse Matrix environment
Excellent execution skills with a track record of success in implementing complex projects and deliverables
Change agent
Influence skills to shape decisions and outcomes
Learner - open to new ideas and a demonstrated ability to assess them
Very strong Project Management experience
