Description

This position is responsible to work in collaboration with the business units when responding to grants, Request for Proposals or other technical business related documents. The incumbent will coordinate with the Marketing Strategist and business experts to obtain essential information in order to write engaging and comprehensive technical text.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Will assist in managing the response process in collaboration with the business unit, bid team or subject matter expert(s) as it relates to technical/proposal writing.
  • Identifies documentation needs for assigned projects and prepares documentation plans, identifying the deliverables that will be produced. Responsible for any updates throughout the project.
  • Responsible for producing clear, concise written documents that adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements and/or specific guidelines.
  • Will develop and manage all timelines for assigned projects and communicate project status reports to various levels as needed.
  • Responsible for collecting, tracking and disseminating all related information to core team members.
  • Will attend strategy meetings with key stakeholders to integrate related materials according to their assigned sections in the associated proposal or requested document.
  • Responsible for proof-reading draft materials from other sources to ensure the information is clear and complete. Complies with the style quality standards and adheres to accepted principles of good design.

Job Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor degree in English, journalism, communications or related field required.

Experience

  • Must provide a portfolio of writing samples upon request.
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years technical writing experience.
  • Must be familiar with technical writing applications such as Microsoft Office, Visio, FrontPage, Adobe Acrobat, etc., computer systems, technical writing methodologies and project planning principles.
  • Experience with writing proposals for State and Federal agencies strongly desired.
  • Must be self directed, organized and detail-oriented as well as have the ability to interview subject matter experts at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete assignments with high level of quality and on time required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required, including process-interviewing skills.
