POSITION SUMMARY: Provides technical support to the project team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Review of design documentation to verify conformance with applicable building and fire codes and design criteria. Support senior projects team members in preparing automatic sprinkler system design drawings, high-pile storage permit plans, fire alarm plans and related supporting documentation (e.g. specifications and calculations). Assist project team members in conducting site evaluation and construction observation tasks.

Minimum Work Experience: Zero to five Years

Special Skills Required: AutoCad; working knowledge of building and fire codes and standards (i.e., NFPA 13,14,& 22) relating to fire extinguishing systems; automatic sprinkler system hydraulic calculation methods and applications (e.g.., HASS); familiarity with computer sprinkler design software (e.g., Autosprink) is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Associate degree in fire protection engineering program or automatic sprinkler system design program/courses or equivalent work experience
