Assignment Capsule
As a Technology operations/production specialist you will: set-up, operate and monitor computer and peripheral equipment, ensuring its effective utilization throughout Humana. You will also coordinate preventive maintenance and operating requirements, resolving all systems issues proactively.

  • Monitor AS400 and RS6000 Midrange environments, handling all trouble-shooting activities by performing midrange system support tools and interfacing with support parties
  • Ensure the proper functioning of various production tools and environments, including the AS400 and RS6000 automated job scheduling
  • Identify processing issues including Aborts, restarts, Job overrides, pre-processing, ad-hoc submissions, Queries, temporary AS400 and RS6000 database changes, monitor all function and performance of Development partition and issue reporting and escalation. Utilize SDLC in support of Quality Assurance initiatives through assisting with user testing, Test Bench tool, project tracking and promotion to production environment

Role Essentials
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation, including OS400 and RS6000 operating system level logs
  • Working knowledge of OS400, RS6000, CL and system tool products, Yellow Fish Help Desk software and other issue reporting systems. Utilize SDLC in support of Quality Assurance initiatives through assisting with user testing, Test Bench tool, project tracking and promotion to production environment.
  • Prior midrange system experience


Role Desirables
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field


Reporting Relationships
  • You will report to a Supervisor. This area is under the leadership of the SVP & Chief Operating Officer.
