Adecco Technical is currently recruiting for Telecom Technicians level II and III in the Columbus area. These are temp-to-perm positions. 1.1 Telecom Technician II Required skills and abilities  Proficient in all types of copper and fiber cabling installation, testing, and troubleshooting.  Proficient in Category 5 and GigaSpeed installation, including distance and routing issues.  Proficient in setting up hubs, routers, and switches utilizing information provided by HP engineers.  Intermediate knowledge of local area networks  Intermediate knowledge of network architecture and switched operating system  Familiarity with telecom battery systems  Basic knowledge of DC voltage  Ability to apply subject matter knowledge to resolve general support issues  Normally receives general instructions on all work  Acts as a team member by providing information and support to team efforts  Looks for opportunities to improve existing processes and workflow designs  Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to listen and interface with both technical and non-technical personnel  Demonstrated ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency and problem ownership Years of experience Technical associate degree or equivalent experience and 2-4 years related experience. Training and Certifications  Intermediate knowledge of local area networks  Intermediate certification for structured cabling system installation  Intermediate troubleshooting and problem solving phone skills. Uses quantitative data to draw conclusions  Intermediate computer skills with the ability to utilize computerized work order systems to perform issued work orders. Also maintains inventory of all associated parts  Trained on CAT 5/CAT 6 certification standards  Supplier is responsible for maintaining employees fiber certification  Working knowledge of protocol analysis tools  UTP and Fiber optic cabling installation, testing, and repair  BICSI certified in Installer Level 1 and completed some training towards Installer Level 2 certification 1.2 Telecom Technician III Required skills and abilities The same responsibilities of a Telecom Technician II as well as  Extensive knowledge and experience in copper and fiber cabling.  Proficient in pin assignments for custom cable assemblies.  Proficient in setting up hubs, routers, and switches utilizing information provided by HP.  Proficient in use of HP proprietary software that may be used in the operation of the network as well as other standard software programs.  Specialized knowledge of local area networks  Experience in a large, high volume client environment  Specialized knowledge of network architecture and switched operating system  Applies developed level of technical support knowledge, in one or more support areas, to solve common and complex technical issues within established guidelines and by recommending appropriate variances  Does not require day-to-day supervision  Has the ability to handle most unique situations  Acts as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities facilitates information validation and team decision-making process  Develops simple plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and efficient in meeting goals  Allocates own time and that of others efficiently.
