The Telecommunications Coordinator will be working with both voice and networking applications.  Experience with both is required.  Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with managing the day-to-day operations of all telecommunications and data equipment implementations and other related applications
  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing telecommunications equipment, switches, wiring, and related voice and data communications systems
  • Administering Cisco devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Administering HP data switches and NEC/Avaya/3Com voice switches
  • Compiling and maintaining various records and databases
  • Analyzing telecommunications needs and make recommendations
  • Communicating with vendors and end-users
  • Performing related duties as required


Experience/Skills

General Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree, with coursework in telecommunications, networking, or a related field required
  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus
  • 4 years experience in telecommunications and networking
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with supporting systems remotely
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Some travel and after-hours work may be required

Technical Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with a wide variety of PBX systems (NEC, Avaya, 3Com)
  • Ability to support KTS telephones and equipment
  • Experience with phone system programming, IVR technology, voice-data integration, local and wide area networking, cellular, PDA, and smartphone technology
  • Proven experience working with DHCP, Authentication, Active Directory, Group Policy, and File Permissions
  • Experience managing local area networks (LAN and WLAN)
  • Ability to implement and support DSL, T1s, and VoIP connections
  • Ability to identify and support ACD systems
  • Can efficiently work with local, long distance, and data providers to order and troubleshoot issues related to incumbent telecommunication services
