EDUCATION:
Master's degree (M.A.) or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE:


Expert knowledge of Telecommunications operations and systems (Mitel/Octel and Northern Telecom knowledge preferred)

Expert knowledge of Carrier services and billing

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office

Excellent project management skills

Required to work some night and weekends, as well as being on-call at least once a month

21CFR Part 11 and Change Control experience preferred


Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION:
Directs and coordinates telecommunications systems and staff.
Responsible for the development, implementation and management of a integrated telecommunication system including PBX and Voice Mail systems, Audio Visual systems, cabling infrastructure, establishing and maintaining carrier/vendor relations, System Security, Disaster Recovery planning, technical support to user base.
Must also be able to prioritize work, learn new concepts quickly and juggle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

Essential Duties


Staff development and management

Strategic planning of communication technology and resources

Budget management including monthly and quarterly forecasts and yearly budget cycle requirements

Global project management

Develops and implements policies and procedures related to telecommunication hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup

Develops and communicates global standards for use, operations, chargeback's

Consults with department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives

Researches and evaluates new technologies

Negotiates contracts with and coordinates activities of hardware, software, telecommunications, support, and training vendors. Installs and tests software upgrades

Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures

QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE:


Percent Travel Required 10%
