Job Rates:
$80/hr - $120/hr + depending on skill set and experience

Job Description:


Teradata DBA:

Candidate will be responsible for developing and executing database DDL, creating views, maintaining user permissions, and implementing indexes as required for programs.
Duties will additionally include the setup and configuration of RDBMS as well as conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting problems as they arise. The candidate will also support the Extract, Transform, and Load and Business Intelligence development teams with peer reviews of SQL, universe creation, and other development components that require database access.
The candidate will be required to work with Teradata and Oracle databases.
Candidate will collaborate with System and Software Engineers to aid in performance tuning.
The DBA will make recommendations to the engineering teams regarding
performance, capacity, and other database changes impacting system and subsystem design.

Required skills include:
Experience with Teradata Data Warehousing concepts, specifically Teradata. UNIX commands and scripting Strong SQL skills Strong organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Process oriented. Strong teamwork, problem solving, and customer interaction skills
Desired skills / attributes include:
Related domain knowledge (transportation/logistics) Knowledge of BEA product lines (Weblogic, Aqualogic) Knowledge of Informatica ETL and Business Objects business intelligence tools
