John Deere Augusta Works is seeking a Test Engineer - Compact Utility Tractor to provide technical leadership to the John Deere Commercial Products (JDCP) engineering lab test group. In this position, you will:

Plan and conduct tests and analysis work on entire projects of large scope.
Maintain productive working relationships and facilitate a large number of activities with alternative division resources (Southeast Engineering Center, Accelerated Design Verification, Horicon, etc.).
Perform lab test activities of high complexity and will provide training to increase the capabilities of engineers and technicians in the lab test group and design engineering community.
Improve the long-term technical capabilities within the JDCP engineering lab.
Demonstrate a long-term commitment of retention and growth of JDCP lab testing core competencies.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or 6+ years of equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Experience

Experienced with data acquisition equipment (EDAQ &/or National Instruments preferred) and measurement devices: strain gauges, thermocouples, pressure transducers, etc.
Experience developing, setting up, programming, & running complex tests.
Experience with data analysis & post processing software, especially Labview & NSoft/Glyphworks.
Willingness to travel up to 25%, in the U.S.
Strong engineering & technical skills.
Strong verbal & writing skills.
Ability to teach others.

Desired Skills and Experience

Familiarity with off-road equipment.
Experience with engine Dynamometers.
Experience with programming in VisualBasic and Access.
