Outstanding career opportunity with a solid company based here in Reno Nevada for an experienced Test Engineer. This position will be responsible for the following: Provide functional and technical expertise within a domain area, such as Diamond, AT2, Games, Processes, Systems, Networking, Hardware, and/or Test Automation. Contribute in establishing, revising and verifying quality standards, processes, and procedures for assigned projects. Review and contribute to product requirements and design specifications during planning stages of software development life cycle. Contribute to the integrity of the test plans, test data, test environment, and coordination with support areas for specific projects. Develop appropriate test plans & test cases from working closely with developers and designers to ensure quality products are delivered to customers. Evaluate and test new or modified programs and documentation by using various test methods. Execute manual and automated tests, and report results as required. Establish, setup, configure and maintain test environments as needed to test software. Report identified defects in the software. Work closely with developer. Assist in design and development of automated tests as needed to ensure maximum test coverage of products. Lead development team in testing effort of projects as assigned. Automation script design and development using development techniques such as Object-Oriented design. Coordinate with appropriate Engineers to evaluate automation alternatives and propose solutions. Establish work estimates. Compile, interpret, and present test results. Evaluate, recommend and implement appropriate test tools. Good problem solving/debugging skills. Qualifications: Experience with the following is required: Windows Operating Systems (2000, Server, XP), basic knowledge of DOS, TCP/IP Possess solid software engineering skills and must be capable of writing quality code. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Proficient in word processing software; spreadsheet software; accounting software and database software. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MS SQLServer and Database administration PC Hardware troubleshooting and configuration Network Administration and configuration Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience of combination of experience and education. Strong scripting skills (e.g. PERL, C++, SQL) 1 year experience using Visual Studiodf-tc
