Description
PEROT SYSTEMS CORPORATION is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. It is currently looking for a Test Engineering Consultant to join our Consulting Solutions team in Tampa, FL . Due to the nature of a consulting organization this role will require up to 50% travel.

The Test Engineer is responsible for communicating the status of the testing and development progress in both a written and verbal form to the project lead. Some travel might be required to participate in analysis activities, software design reviews, source code reviews, or GUI design reviews.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Define and document operational requirements
  • Recommending appropriate procedures to be implemented based on customer constraints
  • May be asked to participate in requirements gathering activities and providing feedback
  • Developing and executing unit test programs to ensure correctness of the implementation
  • Participating in the evaluation of software development tools
  • Leading architectural design and code reviews
  • Enforcing established development standards and code style guidelines
  • Working in compliance with configuration management rules and guidelines
  • Participating in GUI design reviews with the customer
  • Communicating the status of development progress

    Required Skills:

    The Test Engineer must have 3 years of experience in the following areas:

  • Developing test plans and implementing automated testing solutions using Junit and TestNG.
  • Implementing testing solutions for projects following an Agile development methodology and using a continuous integration build environment.
  • Expertise in Cruise Control, Ant, JUnit.
  • Proficient in concepts of Continuous Integration practices, unit testing and integration testing large scale complex applications.

    The criteria for several of the following technical qualifications are described as "demonstrated proficiency." Proficiency is demonstrated by having developed specific test plans and implementing automated testing solutions on previous projects for which the candidate had sole responsibility, and which were delivered and incorporated in a system currently in production. Academic experience, informal training (for example, reading material) or experimentation does not qualify as demonstrated experience.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in a related field or equivalent experience
