Provide Tier 4 support and fault isolation for the operations of multi-million dollar systems in a fully functional customer serving environment. Provide Tier 4 implementation support of systems which provide services available to over 5 million homes. Provide 7x24x365 operational support through on-call duties to customers and internal organizations.

(40%) Troubleshoot and remedy problems under time specific guidelines in order to restore
services generating seven figure revenues per week.
(30%) Install and implement new systems or improve legacy networks through system upgrades.
(20%) Perform preventive maintenance such as but not limited to back-ups, configuration changes,
patches and new version releases.



4 years experience:
- Supporting CMTS devices within a production system in a mission-critical 7x24 environment
- RF distribution-system theory and troubleshooting
- TCP/IP and networking (e.g. OSPF, IP, TCP, DNS, and SNMP) and routing protocols
- Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Visio

1-2 years experience:
- Voice over IP technologies
- Project management

Job Skills:
- Strong analytical skills for problem solving.
- Familiar with RF and cable distribution systems.
- Expertise with commonly used lower-layer technologies (e.g. Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit
Ethernet)
- Programming experience, preferably with Batch scripting, C, C++, Perl or Java.
- Experience with supporting NT, Windows 2000, Linux systems and Intel x86 hardware production
systems in a mission-critical 7x24 environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to produce documentation of
operational procedures.
- Must be able to work variable shift hours and rotate on-call duties.
- Must be able to work in an entrepreneurial environment requiring broad experience, adaptability,
quick learning and excellent problem solving skills.
- Punctual, regular and consistent attendance is mandatory.

Formal Education/Degree: 2 years degree preferably in communication or related field from College or University or 4 years related experience.

Certificates/Licenses: CCNA, CCNP, and RHCT preferred. Vendor specific certificates desirable

Valid drivers license with clean driving records

Job Training: Training in the fields of DOCSIS (Data over Cable Service Interface Specification), Linux, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) / Internet Protocol (IP), video distribution systems, Voice over IP, multicast, MPEG streams and IP routing desirable.

This is a 3 month contract to hire position and the hours are Sunday - Wednesday 10:30pm-9am
