Description
This position resides within Enterprise Systems Services Support which focuses on infrastructure support and automation, server alert management and configuration, as well as installing alert management software and configure for operating, application and database level monitoring. The groups overall responsibility focuses on ensuring all production and backup Servers are monitored.
As an Enterprise Systems Specialist, you will be tasked with interacting with multiple distributed support teams, as they each have their own set of procedures dealing with monitoring. Candidate will interface with these teams to create one set of clear concise documentation and procedures that they all follow. Secondary responsibilities will act on a project basis to help identify and implement automated solutions for Data Center Management.
This individual should also be able to provide creative input and implement solutions, which allow disparate systems to seamlessly communicate with each other.
Qualifications
Experience in Tivoli a must - ITM 5.2- IBM Tivoli monitoring and ITM 6.x - Tivoli monitoring, Tivoli Frame work
3+ years of experience with UNIX, Windows, AIX operating system, Oracle relational DB
Good understanding of SNMP, TCP/IP is a plus.
Systems administration is a plus; UNIX or Windows platform.
Knowledge of Scripting and programming languages like Shell and Perl, TCL, Microsoft .NET.
A working knowledge of SQL language is preferred and a working knowledge of relational database technology like Oracle and MS-SQL are also helpful.
Strong knowledge of Windows O/S and Unix O/S are essential.
Good communication (written and oral in English) skills required as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
