Senior UNIX/C/C++ Instructor/Computer Science Trainer candidates with a Doctorate - Ph.D or Masters in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or a related field with four+ years of experience in C/C++ development/programming, experience with High-Performance UNIX Programming, a solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Modular/Object-Oriented Design, a working knowledge of Systems Programming (threads, sockets, etc.), teaching experience in Business or Academia, experience in the Software Engineering Life Cycle and knowledge of Relational Databases. This a global news, media, and financial services company's expert-level Training team is looking to augment their current talent with a self-motivated, highly-experienced Computer Science Technical Trainer. The successful candidate will love technology and love to train others. The company's team works closely with the Programming groups to analyze technical training needs and provide training for job skills, as well as professional development programs. The company's trainers are responsible for the curriculum as well as presentation of the various training programs/initiatives, working with the latest technologies and serve as both trainers and development consultants to a technical staff of 2,000. Trainers typically have an advanced degree in Computer Science and several years of Software Development experience. The selected C++ Instructor/UNIX/C Trainer candidate will be training two to four, six week classes per year of approximately 35 college graduates many of which will be have their Ph.D degree.

Required Skills:
Qualified Senior UNIX/C/C++ Instructor/Computer Science Trainer candidates will have:

  • A Doctorate - Ph.D or Masters in Computer Science, Physics or Engineering or equivalent major.
  • Four+ years of experience in C/C++ development/programming
  • Experience with High-Performance UNIX Programming
  • Solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Modular/Object-Oriented
Design
  • Working knowledge of Systems Programming (threads, sockets, etc.)
  • Teaching experience in Business or Academia
  • Experience in the Software Engineering Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases
  • Strong verbal and written English communication and Presentation skills
  • Background in Real Time Trading Systems or Financial Information Systems is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Web technologies (XML, SOAP, PHP) is a plus
