JOB DESCRIPTION
Position will be located in Jenkinsville, SC 29065

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a BS/BA degree, a Sr. Reactor Operator Certification, plus a minimum of 5+ years of commercial nuclear power plant (PWR) experience to include 4 years of instructional experience.
Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License.
The successful candidate must maintain Instructor Certification.
Candidate must also possess strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with the NRC, INPO, and other utility personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Incumbent for this position is responsible for establishing operator training programs content and ensuring that training program implementation is in accordance with NRC requirements and INPO guidelines. This includes ensuring proper scheduling, tracking and documentation of all programs. Conducts and documents evaluations of training program and course effectiveness and makes adjustments as necessary. Develops, reviews, and approves training materials, exam questions, and exams. Also conducts classroom, simulator and practical training courses on the Senior Reactor Operator level. In addition, this position is accountable for appraising and reporting student progress and documenting and maintaining records for training. In support of these activities, the incumbent directly supervises approximately six instructors and indirectly supervises clerical support personnel.
Qualified candidates will have experience supervising or managing training program specific to nuclear preferably in the Operation area, and will be knowledgeable of INPO ACADs and accreditation criteria. Must have experience in developing Accreditation Self Evaluation Report (ASER) or have provided oversight for development of one, and can develop long-term vision for the organization based on the changing of the training and industry standards. Must be knowledgeable with the regulatory requirement for operation training in the areas of Licensed Operator Initial and Requalifications, and must be previously Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) licensed or hold a certification preferably in PWR.
Desired skills include participation in Accreditation Visit, and familiarity with industry current issue in training area. An understanding of how operation organization is managed is also highly desired.
