Description
Job Description-
Work in concert with the Base Transmission hardware releasing group, with Powertrain Systems Engine Calibration group, with the Scientific and NVH labs, and with Product Development Teams. Engineers are expected to develop and implement best practice design and calibration solutions, and to perform verification testing in accordance with Powertrain System Functional Objectives. Engineers report directly to calibration lead and operate under the general direction of the department manager.

Typical Work Duties:

. Use standard instrumentation toolsets for data acquisition, storage, and analysis
. Follow standard procedures and drive cycle guidelines for data collection
. Perform calibration work that focuses on new engine or transmission programs, Powertrain System adaptation to new vehicles, and controls feature implementation support
. Incorporate design for six sigma best practices to optimize system designs
. Develop and track hardware and calibration solutions that meet system functional objectives
. Provide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections
. Work typically includes some travel throughout the year for issue discovery and system validation/verification

Qualifications-

Education: BSME/BSEE/Computer Science Required, MSME/MSEE/MS Computer Science Preferred

Desired Skills-

. Advanced Data Acquisition and Analysis Skills
. ETAS INCA and CANape Tool Experience Preferred
. MATLAB / SIMULINK
. Good Teamwork Skills and Ability to Work Independently
. Understanding of Transmission System Fundamentals
. Hardware In the Loop Development /Verification
. Database Management of Production Calibrations

Preferred Experience: 3+ years in Transmission Calibration or Powertrain Systems Development.
