Description
The UI Engineer is a member of the Integrated Production Environment Products development team. This team builds and maintains the user-interfaces for mission-critical video production systems for television networks. Sample projects include media asset management systems, digital video archives, and catalog/search systems. The engineer will work closely with other members of the development team through the full systems lifecycle including requirements capture, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Qualified candidates will have previous experience designing and building the user-interface aspects of complex browser-based business applications. Practical experience designing intuitive interfaces to handle complex business workflows is a crucial. Specifically this experience should be centered on open web standards such DHTML, JavaScript and CSS and the recent experience working in the Web 2.0 paradigm would be a significant advantage.

Experience/Skills
BS in Computer Science or related field required; MS in Computer Science or related field preferred

Four or more years of user interface design experience including prototyping and user-experience analysis.

Four or more years of experience with JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, XML/XSL, and associated technologies.

At least two years experience building and delivering distributed systems that perform critical business or operational functions, preferably in a real- or near-real time environment

Experience with cataloging, library, search, or other record and meta-data intensive systems preferred

Candidate should be able to show examples of previous work specifically showing how they managed to create an effective user-interface experience.

Other desired skills:
