Description

CCCi has over 30 years providing IT talent to it's customers. CCCi is excited about a new opportunity to work with one of our best customers who is looking for a UNIX Administrator. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years experience working with UNIX Server operating systems to include installation and configuration (SUN Solaris preferred). This candidate will also need a minimum of two years experience with Oracle Server implementation and maintenance. This will be a six month contract initially with a high potential to last up to two years. Responsibilities include providing system administration, software and hardware support, and Oracle/Sybase administration for the computer systems utilized by the IT department.

Also, responsibilities include installing and maintaining server hardware and operating systems to support unique customer requirements, following standard processes for hardware, software and project completion, problem resolution and change management. The candidate should be able to diagnose and resolve technical problems to meet service level expectations, participate in departmental initiatives, communicate progress, problems and best practices to management, leads and team mates. You will also be responsible for installation and support of in-house custom and vendor software Storage Management including data backup and restoration, database System Administration for Oracle and Sybase Servers, disaster Recovery Infrastructure support and needs the ability to build strong relationships with customers, vendors and other IT organizations.

Candidate must have a strong focus on teamwork and be a team player, understand business drivers, processes and data. When necessary, provide consulting and support for new and existing vendor software, performance analysis and tuning; database reorganizations; space monitoring and management; data integrity checks and cleanup; database backups and recovery; data load, maintenance and migration scripts. Candidate will install and support Oracle database packages, provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance for existing database instances, develop and maintain technical knowledge with emphasis on database related skills.

Required skills for this role will include comprehensive experience in system administration of UNIX (Solaris) operating systems, possess strong knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager, and Cluster Server, experience in Oracle 10g database administration, experience in Oracle RMAN backup and recover processes, have general knowledge of Unix hardware platforms and other components (CPU, clusters, storage area networks, disk and tape arrays and special equipment such as DVD, CD or optical disk), basic knowledge of Shell programming, experience in backup and recovery of system and database files (Veritas Netbackup a plus).

Soft skills should include the ability to effectively and accurately organizes tasks, manages multiple priorities/details, and meets tight deadlines, communicate with support personnel to quickly assess issues and coordinate appropriate action plan, be self motivated, resourceful, proactive team player that can work independently and take personal ownership of work assignments, ability to follow detailed technical instructions, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and possess professional oral and written communication skills.
