Description
Our Client is looking for a seasoned UNIX/LINUX System Administrator with a strong emphasis on Windows and Linux environment, Windows Certification is a BIG PLUS.

Length: 9 months

Location: Atlanta, GA 30349

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a broad variety of technical administration, engineering, and support for information systems and infrastructure, with emphasis on Windows and LINUX systems.
  • Provides technical expertise and direct support for the planning, coordination, and implementation of Windows and LINUX systems and software.
  • Ensures stable performance through performance monitoring and tuning. Performs capacity planning, workload modeling, and prediction of resource needs, ensures timely system maintenance, plans and implements major software and hardware upgrades,ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of technical standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Works independently or as a member of interdisciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Review and deploy Windows/LINUX/UNIX System releases and patches according to security evaluation to ensure compliance with policies and licensing agreements
  • Provide support and consultation services to end users
  • Provide technical input for strategic planning and acquisition

Job Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience as a Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and UNIX systems engineer in a complex multi-platform, multi-protocol environment. Broad understanding of all Windows, UNIX/LINUX, LAN, WAN, SAN, and backup operations.
  • Expertise in Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux system installation, configuration,administration, maintenance, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise with a variety of server/systems monitoring, analysis, management, and configuration tools.
  • Proven VMware ESX experience both from a project and support perspective in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of Solaris System Administration
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Highly skilled and diverse with strong analytic skills
  • Executes all job responsibilities and assignments promptly, reliably, honestly, and ethically.
