Job Description: UNIX / Storage / Backup Administrator
Job Type: Full Time
Reports to: Lead - USA Storage / UNIX
Division: US IT Infrastructure Services

Skills Required:

Minimum 4-6 years of UNIX / Storage / Backup experience in Enterprise environments.
UNIX Technologies: Solaris, HP-UX, Linux variants
Storage Technologies: NetApp (CIFS, NFS, Fiber Channel) , McData & Brocade switches
Backup Technologies: Veritas NetBackup Enterprise, NetBackup PureDisk

Job Responsibilities

UNIX

Configure and maintain UNIX servers (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux)
Configure, build and deploy applications and patches to these servers
Monitor server resources such as CPU, I/O, and disk to anticipate growth needs
Troubleshoot OS issues and help application and database administrators where needed
Work with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed
Experience with Oracle on Unix from an OS perspective
Experience meeting Sarbanes-Oxley compliance across various systems.
Participate in Level III (7x24) on-call rotation.
Currently once every 3-4 weeks.

STORAGE

Configure NetApp storage to meet the business needs for SAN (Windows, Solaris, HPUX, Linux) and NAS (CIFS, NFS) functionality.
Understand and implement data protection strategies using snapshots and SnapMirror
Knowledge of McData and Brocade SAN switches
Knowledge of specific SAN functions (Zoning, Masking, Presentation of Storage, etc)

BACKUP

Monitor daily completion, success/failure of backup jobs and take action to remediate failures.
Install and configure backup agents where needed.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant experience that covers the listed Job Responsibilities
Experience administering systems solutions that meet multiple stakeholder needs with minimal ongoing administration
Highly organized and deadline oriented
Self-starter, motivated and able to multi-task
