"Position Overview - Plan, design, implement, and analyze tune business-oriented technical solutions based on UNIX technologies and any Storage Technologies. =0A =0A Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities - Responsibilities include playing a key role in the operational support of an enterprise infrastructure. Some of those key responsibilities include installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, implementing, and rolling out organization's UNIX operating systems. Project planning. Analyzing and resolving problems associated with server hardware, Unix and various software applications. Detect, diagnose, correct, and report Unix related problems. A Unix engineer Technician understands our clients' business goals, desired end-state, and translates the requirements relative to system management software. Technician architects the solutions to meet the need, develops the scope of work, and estimates the level of effort required for implementation. Other responsibilities include performance monitoring, capacity planning, storage connectivity, storage management, and maintenance of all servers. Creating user accounts and maintaining security levels. Provide all third-level telephone support and troubleshooting skills enterprise wide, including on-call 365/24/7 days support. =0A =0A Position Requirements - The preferred candidate should have at least three years of increasing responsibility in a Unix environment. A bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is essential with an advanced degree highly desirable. Strong experience in several of the following technical areas would be expected - * Operating Systems (Solaris, HP/UX, AIX, NT); * IT Operations; * IP Networking; * Third party Storage (EMC, Hitachi, Compaq); * Third party management tools (BMC, Ciscoworks); * Third party monitoring tools (Tivoli, CA Unicenter, HP Openview); * Storage Area Networks; * Veritas products; and * Process design skills."df-tc
