One of the leading telecom companies in the Oakton, VA area has an immediate need for a full time Unix Administrator. The candidate will ensure that the systems and features he/she is responsible for are operational and working correctly. He/she will work Trouble Cases, address end user questions, developing Scripts, test, review documentation, train, implement related special projects as well as additional tasks.

Required:
. Ability to be on call 24x7 (rotation lasts for a week including weekend)
. BS degree in CS or related field or applicable work experience
. 5+ years experience in Technical Support of distributed computing systems
. Working knowledge of Solaris OS or other Unix OS (like HPUX, AIX, Linux, etc)
. Previous Development Experience including extensive trouble shooting/debugging skills
. Strong Communication Skills (both written and verbal)

Desired:
. Outage Management
. Software Development Lifecycle
. Networking
. Shell Scripting (in particular Perl)
. SQL queries
. Third-party enterprise software applications, including Oracle, MQ Series, Weblogic and LDAP
. Computer Hardware
. Microsoft Server System Administration
. Support Process (or SBC's or BellSouth's)
. EMSes
