Description
Provides a secure, stable and highly available environment, including performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring and recoverability.
Provides support in dynamic, stressful situations and optimizes availability of system services.
Maintains solid knowledge of backup and recovery technologies, security/firewalls, network, and storage technologies.
Implements and maintains system monitoring tools such as HP-IT/operations or BMC-Patrol.
Leads projects, develops plans and accepts responsibility for assigned project's timely completion.
Documents and supports standards, policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with customers and vendors and is a mentor for teamwork.
Completes other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent in experience. 5 or more years of technical experience, including 3 years of system administration in a distributed, highly available environment. Experience evaluating system performance and trouble-shooting problems involving business applications, OS software and server hardware. Experience creating and maintaining administrative shell scripts. Experience training/mentoring other system administrators. Strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills.
