UNIX MIDDLEWARE MANAGER:

We have an excellent leadership opportunity in our Enterprise Systems/Unix Department. As the manager of the Unix engineering/support technology team, this individuals responsibilities include:

Management of staff schedules, task assignments, project deliverables, annual reviews, etc.
Oversight of day-to-day support activities including problem resolution, system monitoring, HW/SW maintenance, backups, capacity management, etc.
Ensure that all Unix systems meet Enterprise performance and availability service level agreements
Oversight and escalation resource for staff that provide 7x24 (on-call) system support
Work with other infrastructure and development teams to ensure that enterprise support and development goals are met
Oversight for the design and deployment of new systems/software
Support Enterprise disaster recover initiatives
Management of Unix hardware and software vendor relationships
Management of the organizations budget
Ensure systems and processes are compliant with State/Federal law and corporate security policies
Ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong management/technical skills and meet the following minimum qualifications:

Experience with HP/UX and Solaris; AIX and Linux a plus.
BA/BS degree; Masters degree in Computer Sciences or related field, a plus
10+ years managerial experience, leading a team of at least 2-10 technical personnel
Demonstrated management and leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
